Survival of the Fittest!!!!

Yes that’s the true motto for any person who travels by bus. Hard to digest living in the capital of this awesome country still this is the fact. Our population is just awesome with commonwealth approaching and all the roads getting ready for a makeover the general public is at the losing end. Its true that people say to get anything you need to struggle but let me ask something..Is this struggle.

Okay lets get to the point. Let me start by  explaining to you my general bus travel. Well first of all early morning getting ready for college is a tough task for any engineer(to be). Well engineers by virtue of definition are supposed to be awake all night. Reason … well most of them just listening to music, others discussing crap with friends… some hooked on to their cellphones talking to their loved ones(ahem ahem lemme clear it…by loved ones I don’t mean family it means girlfriends or to – be girlfriends) and some planning future life….very few of them are there who might be seen struggling over writing some geeky code…. Don’t ask me what do I do[J].

So you get up early in the morning take an shower and you get on to the bus stop just to see that a public bus is waiting for you. Well it’s a convention that you wait for the “DTC” but let me clear it our…DTC may be at your service like Delhi Police but that’s only for the papers in reality story is very different. Well to me DTC are like Dinosaurs … extinct…. Well you wait for the DTC but they just wont come.. Basically it’s the private “BLUELINE” buses that are at your service no matter what. You just don’t need to wait they are always there for you. BUT…yes there is a very big BUT you don’t need to be happy about it let the story continue..

So there is this blueline bus waiting for you to come in, the bus conductor comes in to you asks you “Sir chalo kaha jana hai” no matter what you say the conductor will be “chailiye sir bus mein aaiye”. Well waiting for a DTC specially when you want to reach early is no alternative so you step into a DTC and guess what the blueline bus still wont move until it finds each and every possible traveller.

Story goes on the bus moves the worst thing is that it will stop for every person on the way even if it is on the middle of the road. You wave at them and they will stop just to catch as they call it a “savari”. The main struggle starts in buses when there is a long route. You are standing and the crowd keeps coming there is no limit in India about the number of persons in a bus(Mrs Sheila Dixit please note for your reference) the conductor is like “Bhaiya thoda aage jaiye” and there is another person in the front who ll say “Bhaiya thoda peeche jaiye”. You will be like “Bloody hell where is the space….but you just cant do anything you will probably be standing but people keep coming.

It continues lets jump straight into bus routes no. 34/764/724/33/717/… just to name a few you will get to do all kind of “Swami Ramdev Asanas” it is like a treat for you. The bus will be so damn crowded that you wont need to do anything you might also have to stand on one feet. Still the conductor will be like “bhaiya thodi jagah hai aage jao” I wonder how do they find space.. The most important thing the conductors do is ticket collection…Even if the bus is fully crowded they will still come to collect your ticket by squeezing in…at times you might not be able to see suddenly a hand will come from nowhere and it ll be “Bhaiya ticket”…frankly speaking they become spiderman in buses….well in bluelines there is no respect for women seriously speaking. I guess its because of the crowd even if a woman is standing people just don’t care to get up. This is one thing that is different in Delhi Metro at least people there have the courtesy. Well I seriously think women should never think of travelling in these kind of buses. Well lets continue you will be standing on one feet and there is no mercy.. You will have special crowd all stinking and standing right next to you. Dont ever worry about perspiration you wont just have your perspiration but also from the people next to you. At time you might see droplets falling off from another person on your hand...(Sorry for getting a bit gross)...

Well getting off the bus is another struggle. You need to be over flexible to get out. You follow a  step process

1. Find the target location to get down

2. Plan where to get down

3. Squeeze as much as possible and keep asking from the people in front "bhaiya kaha utroge"

Well Mrs. Sheila Dixit you have done everything for Delhi but your DTC are just too few for Delhi vasis...I know there is only one dialog .. "We are working in this matter"...Well i can just say i hope things get better even if your party wins/loses the elections as what matters is public.

Well i guess i ll write another article on Traffic at delhi as its another area you might want to know.

Well i know it might have been too long

PS: Never use a deo while travelling it might just turn into a R-Deo (Reverse Deo)

Can a Father Murder his own daughter?

Today, 24th May, 2008 is a 14 year old's birthday and she would have been very happy over this. No one in this world would ever expect this to happen. How could this ever happen to such a young girl. Well i am talking about DPS Girl Aarushi Talvar, who every one now is aware of. It would have been the most luckiest day of her life but turned out the worst.

Our main topic of discussion here is can a father murder his own daughter. Its hard to imagine specially in India with such strong cultural and moral values. The Noida Police recently reported that Dr. Rajesh Talvar was behind the murder of his daughter and also the servant. But is it possible? The police has claimed it as an honour killing, but thinking logically its very hard to digest. Looking in history you will be amazed to know that this actually can happen. There is a recent case of England where a Muslim father murdered his 24 year old daughter owing to the affair she was having.

"A devout Muslim who murdered his 24-year-old daughter after discovering her "secret" boyfriend has been jailed for life.
Faqir Mohammed, 69, flew into a rage when he came home from evening prayer in June last year to find his daughter, Shahida Perveen Mohammed, with a boyfriend in her bedroom.
Manchester Crown Court heard Mohammed stabbed Shahida 19 times in the head and stomach.
Sentencing him, Mr Justice Field described it as a "dreadful crime" and only a sentence of life imprisonment was appropriate. Mohammed, was described in court as a "strict Muslim", and the defence tried to argue he had been provoked into murdering his daughter."

Another incident follows where a man murdered his daughter over an XBOX Console. "A man who played video games for hours each day has been convicted of killing his 17-month-old daughter when she pulled out his Xbox console." - SKY News. Yes, its very hard to digest but true. You might argue that most of these were based outside India so its inapporiate of compare the cases with this one.

Let us look into the detail, according to me its very hard to digest Aarushi having an affair with a 45 year old man Hemraj who has children and grandchildren. Its not easy to visualize this fact even though in India we have a history with affairs with caretakers or servants. In this case its simple not possible. Another fact that has been brought is that Dr. Rajesh Talvar was having an affair with his colleague and that Hemraj was trying to blackmail. But even if Hemraj and Aarushi knew about this. Can you justify killing your daughter if you have a extra marital affair. Why would he kill only his daughter and servant and not his wife. The Noida Police(already slow in solving cases) is unable to answer these questions.

A news channel also reported that Dr. Rajesh Talvar is linked to be Mayawati(in case if you dont know she is currently UP's Cheif Minister) and tried to cover up things with the police. But what happened now. Was there a negotiation problem? Is the police so lost and so poor in solving such cases. If it is so what is the use of police then. There is no answer for this.

We can just analyse that owing to the pressure from media and state government to find a possible solution, the police had no choice but to declare Dr. Rajesh a murdered with very vague evidences. Even if he confesses in court that he was the one who committed this shocking act its very hard to digest.

The truth is there with the murdered and God.....Today being Aarushi's birthday, I would like to wish her whereever she is....May your soul Rest In Peace.....and may the real culprits be brought in public for committing this brutal crime.

Mess Food

Mess Food – An Analysis of an Engineer(to be)

It was in first year that I had the first bite of the “very famous – mess food”[J]. It is generally known for the state of the art technology used in preparation and the Chinese mess food people. The first dish I got to have I still remember was the best you can imagine. Its 2 years since them and the menu is the same and so is the same quality. I guess some things never change….

Dish1: Dal, Rice, Onion(salad), Roti and plate and spoon and of course water. The very first look at the dal I thought it must be so so (after all the colour was matching). The moment I actually put in the serving spoon to take it I actually analyzed it was nothing but coloured yellow water. I was amazed that nothing actually came into the plate except water. Even soups are better than this. I was actually wondering how do you take it in. Then came in the rotis. Oh god what do you comment on them seems like oil in our country is free. It was already wet in oil and the moment the Chinese/nepali mess guy gave it to me my whole plate got wet. I was simply amazed still Engineers are known for flexibility I had a bite at it. The moment I tried a piece of roti with the dal nothing actually came. I repeated the same step about 4-5 times just like a for loop in a computer program. But unfortunately the output was the same not even the colour came on the roti. As they say “Majboori ka naam Mahatma Gandhi” I had to take that bite. It took me about 5 mins to eat one roti. Now came the turn of the so called “sabzi as they call it”. It was Aloo matar – Mess or rather I should say UP is famous for potatos. “Har cheez mein aloo” I guess in a few days we would start looking like “aloos”. Sometimes I wonder potatoes in Uttar Pradesh are free maybe that’s why they have potatoes in every dish. How can I forget the rice. I had heard of Basmati, Kohinoor and I don’t know what. But what rice is actually I got to know in the mess. We have a special rice quality imported from (that’s a secret). Its white in colour and the size of a rice piece is about 3 cms. Its really a treat for anyone who hasn’t tried it yet. I guess each and every person should try this sort of state of the art food prepared by the “famous Sanjeev Kapoor trained chefs”.

Rating: 0.9/10…0.9 for managing the colour of Dal.
